Jamboree on the Air with Pack 2051 – A Great Day for Scouting and Radio!
The Keystone Amateur Radio Society had an incredible day joining Pack 2051 for this year’s Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) event. The sun was shining, the radios were humming, and the smiles on the Scouts’ faces said it all.
From the very start, the energy was high. Scouts rotated through stations learning about how radio waves travel, how call signs work, and what it takes to make contacts across the country and even around the world. Many of the kids made their very first on-air contact, guided by our club operators who helped them speak confidently over the mic and log their QSOs.
A huge thank you goes out to Pack 2051 for inviting us to be part of their event. It’s always rewarding to see young minds get excited about radio and technology, and this year’s JOTA was a perfect mix of learning and fun.
Special appreciation goes to Dave for planning and coordinating the event. His preparation and setup made everything run smoothly and gave the Scouts a hands-on experience they won’t forget.
We also want to thank all the operators who took the time to get on the air and talk with the Scouts. Every contact helped keep their attention and curiosity alive. Your efforts made a big difference in showing what the spirit of amateur radio is all about communication, learning, and community.
Events like JOTA remind us why we do what we do. Watching the Scouts light up as they made their first contact or tuned into a distant signal was inspiring. It’s the kind of moment that can spark a lifelong interest in science, technology, and amateur radio.
We’re already looking forward to teaming up with Pack 2051 again next year for another JOTA adventure.
